Arranging a Filming schedule / Location planning:
After discussing with my model where to film the film trailer, she doesn't feel comfortable filming it in such an isolated location at night time, so we have decided to move the location to somewhere slightly safer and closer to home. This new location is Dalton-Le-Dale, Seaham. Some photos of it are shown below, along with a google maps view of it.
Below is a screenshot of me arranging with my model the date and time of filming the first part of my film trailer. We decided to film on Thursday, October 30th as it was a time we were both free over half term. As you can see below, my model/actress has agreed to do it at my ideal time/date.

Choosing a Main Actress:
In order to film my film trailer, i needed to choose someone to be the main actress. This person needed to be someone who i was close to because i needed to be able to work smoothly with them, and to be able to successfully arrange times and dates. I thought a good person for this would be my friend Jade, as i talk to her a lot and am quite close to her, therefore it would be easy for me to arrange things with her and be able to see her when i needed to. Also she is a college student, therefore she is the right age for the actress i am looking for. Below is a photo of her.

Planning my Movie Magazine front cover:
My research and Planning is almost complete, therefore i need to start thinking a lot about my final products. I have decided to think about all the cover lines and sell lines etc of my magazine, and i have documented my ideas below. I have also put the reasons of all my ideas underneath in blue text, in order to show the viewer what my thoughts are when brainstorming these ideas.

Masthead:
SPOTLIGHT
~ this is the name i have given my magazine, therefore it will be placed at the top of the magazine cover as the masthead. It will be written in bold text and will be partially covered by the main image.

Main Sell Line:
SHADOWS
running can't save you from the greatest horror movie of the year!
~ This is playing with the phrase "running can't save you" which is the tagline of my film/film trailer, and is hyping the film up by calling it the 'greatest horror movie of the year'.

Main Image:
My main actress/model standing alone in the center of the magazine, surrounded by the forest and trees etc. The mode of address is direct, and she has a blank facial expression.
~ This is to make the girl seem very small and vulnerable, as well as looking very ordinary. The fact she looks ordinary may be quite scary, as the viewer will be able to look at her and rate to her as being an average human being, then will either a) be scared because it shows that these scenarios can happen to anyone, or b) will wonder what's so scary about her if she looks so normal; it will put them in a state of unknown and they'll be confused over what has happened to her.

Cover lines:
EXCLUSIVE!
~ these 'EXCLUSIVE!" text boxes will be shown throughout my magazine cover, and will entice the audience by letting them know that this magazine is where they will find all the latest information first.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- 50 upcoming films you need to see!
~ This lets the audience know that the magazine will contain 50 new films that are mainly unheard of that will be coming out in 2015. This also has the 'exclusive' factor where the viewer feels like they are getting first hand information before anyone else.

- Interview with the girl on fire: Jennifer Lawrence
~ 'the girl on fire' will appeal to existing hunger games fans, as they will recognize the reference whereas the non-hunger games fans will not understand. This 'inside joke' will make some of the audience feel more connected to the magazine's content.

- JK Rowling Interview: New Potter Spin-off?

- 100 of the Greatest heroes and Villains of all time
~ People who buy my magazine will most likely be big fans of films themselves, therefore they will probably know a lot of heroes and villains from various different films over the years they've been watching movies. By having a top 100, it may entice some viewers to read it, as they may want to see where their favorites place on the countdown.

WIN! a month's worth of free cinema tickets
- Page 15
Considering that my target audience for people buying this magazine are fans of films, i think that they would appreciate the idea of winning free cinema tickets for themselves and their friends. By doing this, it is luring the viewers in, as they will want a chance at winning the free things. By stating which page it's on, it is letting the viewers know where to find it, as they are given simple access to navigate through the magazine.

Time Management Update #6:
It is almost the October half-term and I need to have completed the majority of my blog. I think i am still on top of my work, and have done quite a lot with not much else to do, therefore I do not need to worry too much about catching up on anything etc. Over half term i plan to begin filming clips for my film trailer, which shouldn't be a problem as i know that my friends are still willing to help me out. Because of this, i would say that my time management is going quite well.
This is a candid photo that my lecturer took of me working on some of my photographs.

Costume, Hair and Makeup Planning:
For my film trailer, i need my actresses/models to be wearing appropriate clothing for my film. This is because i am trying to create a believable scene where a crowd of students are leaving college, therefore i need to choose outfits which would suit the fashion sense of a 16/17 year old student.
Due to my experience of going to college for the past two years myself along with my results from my target audience poll, i know what most students wear typically most days to college. I know that the majority of young adults my age normally show up in really casual attire, as they want to be comfortable in their lessons all day etc. Because of this, i think it would be best for my actresses to wear something along the lines of jeans and a T-shirt, or leggings and a hoody/jacket etc, maybe with a pair of flats or trainers. These are all very casual, comfy clothes, which are very appropriate for a college-based scene.

These are some examples of typical, causal clothes often worn by teenagers my age. I also know that most of my friends own clothes like these, therefore attaining outfits like this won't be a problem to attain.

Hair styles are also something that i need to consider when filming my actresses and models, because similar the makeup and costume, it needs to be situation appropriate to my college theme. Typically, the majority of my friends wear their hair wavy for college, therefore it would be a good idea to get them to wear it the same for my film. By using their real life every day look, it will appear more believable to the audience, and it will also cause them to be comfortable while getting filmed.
I may get the lesser-main actresses to tie their hair up to look a little more casual, and just have my main character with long and wavy hair, in order to make her stand out against the crowd.
All of these example hair styles are quite messy and out of place; very causal. This is because my actresses are portraying students who have just finished a long day at college, therefore their hair won't be perfect and in place by this time, so i am aiming for a very simple, messy hairstyle.

As well as the costume and hair, I also need to take into consideration the style of makeup that each of my actresses will be wearing. I do not want to go overboard, as they have only been to college. What i mean by this is that it would be inappropriate for them to be wearing a face-full of makeup as if they have been on a night out, because typically, college students don't make that much of an effort. Also, they have just finished a full day of college, so its not likely that their makeup would be fresh and perfect. I think a typical, natural makeup look for girls is foundation, concealer, powder, mascara and eyeliner. Similar to the looks below.

Poll Results:
These are the results of my poll survey that i sent out to my target audience. The most common clothing items are jeans, skirts, t shirts, jackets and flats. This will help me because i need to know what an average outfit of a typical female college student is, so as well as my existing knowledge, this is further research into what will work for my actresses costume.

Online Poll - Costume Planning:
I need to know what the typical kind of outfit consists of for an average female college student. To do this, i have created a poll which i can send to my friends/post online in order to get some accurate responses from my target audience. Below is what the poll looks like, along with a screenshot of the conversation i am a part of in order to get results:
I thought it would be a good idea to get responses from my friends in our group inbox, because they all fit the criteria of my target audience; 16-18 year old female college students. By doing this i know i am getting responses directly from my target audience. As well as this, i have also posted the link on twitter, specifying that i only want female college students to answer my poll. This is because, in the past i have put the link on twitter for anyone to fill out, therefore i didn't really know if my target audience would be the ones answering my questions are not. By doing this, it will hopefully limit the amount of people who click on the link to fill out the poll.
The website i used to create this poll was: www.easypolls.net
Shot List - Camera Shots for my Trailer:
In order to know what types of shots i will need when filming, i have decided to set out a very easy/clear to understand table where it explains what each shot is, who's in it and the importance of each one. This will be useful to refer back to when making my product, as i will be able to look back at it to know that i am doing everything in the right order and have not missed anything out in my trailer. I may add more shots and may remove or change some of these, however these are the most important ones and this will act as my basic template.
