Improving my film poster after receiving feedback:

After receiving feedback from my lecturer, the main point that i was told to think about was the colours used within my poster. I was told to think about symbolism and connotations with colour in my poster, as the colours in my original poster design didn't really represent anything. Red is the most common colour used within horror genres, as it connotes blood and death, therefore i decided to include it within my work. I used the magic wand tool to select the area of purple within the scarf, and then used the hue/saturation tool and the colour balance tool to turn the purple tones a lot more red. I also did the same with her lips. The old design is shown on the left, and the new and improved image is shown on the right. 

Film Trailer - First Draft:

This is the first draft for my media trailer. I have exported the footage from Premiere Pro onto YouTube in 1080p HD for the best quality, and i will now await feedback in order to find out what needs to be improved so i can make it as good as it can be.

Time Management update #8:

I have uploaded both my poster and my magazine to my blog as i have completed them both within quite a short amount of time, and i am reasonably happy with them. However, my film trailer is taking a little longer than i anticipated, as on quite a few occasions, i have had to re-film certain scenes which was rather inconvenient for both me and the model, as we had to re-arrange multiple dates. I will continue to edit this trailer and try to get uploaded as soon as possible. Other than that, i think everything is running smoothly and i feel very on top of both my blog and my ancillary tasks.

Unused/Unsuccessful Shots:

As well as displaying the shots i used within my trailer, i thought it would be a good idea to also include the shots i did not use, as this shows that i know what looks good and what does not. These are all shots which did not meet my standards for whatever reason, whether that be that it was too blurry, out of focus, the shots were accidentally taken, my model was laughing, or i just decided to not include it within the finished product.

Reacting to my peer assessment feedback:

After looking at my peer assessment feedback, the main thing i felt that needed to be changed was my blog layout, as it did not fit in with the horror theme. Below i have included screenshots of what my blog looked like before and after changing the layout to make it more suitable to my target audience.

By changing the background from a floral print to a misty, dark environment, the layout of my blog already looked more suitable. From here i also changed the font for the title, the blog text and the post titles; instead of having a friendly bubble font, it is now quite basic, and looks a lot more professional in my opinion. I also changed the font colour from light blue to dark shades of browns and blacks in order to match my background. I personally prefer my blog a lot more now compared to what it looked like before, as it is a lot more genre appropriate.

Peer Assessing Eachother's Blogs:

In order to get a sense of how well we are doing with our blogs, we went around each computer in the class and wrote two positives and one improvement on post-it notes in order to give each other some critical and supportive feedback.

Overall the feedback i have received is quite positive. 

The main positive point i received was that my blog is informative and detailed, which is useful because i put a lot of effort into my posts, so i am glad that this effort has reflected into my work.

Also, a lot of people stated that they thought my planning was quite good.

My main improvement point is that i need to consider my font. i think this is mostly because the font on my blog, at the minute, does not suit the genre of my film trailer. 

As well as this peer assessment, i have also added my own post-it note to this collection, where i have self assessed my work. I followed the style of the previous notes by adding two positive points and one area for improvement. this post-it note is shown below.

For the positive points, i have highlighted that my time management has been consistent throughout my blog, because after every couple of posts, i have stated how well i was doing for time. For my improvement, i have agreed with my peer feedback by saying that the layout of my blog needs to fit more in with my theme/genre. This is because the light blue flowers and soft bubble writing doesn't match the dark horror theme of my film trailer and ancillary tasks.
