As i am creating products for my main and 2 ancillary tasks, i thought it would be a good idea to plan the layout of them out on paper, so that i will have a planned guideline set out on how to structure each of the products. I may change or alter some of the decisions made on these flat plans, however i think its very useful to have a base that i can refer back to.
This is my flat plan for my ancillary task (the magazine front cover). I chose to stick to a rather generic magazine layout, as i want it to look as professional as the existing magazines that are well distributed on shop shelves. I have made the main image the main focus of the magazine, and i want my actor to partially over the masthead, in order to portray the impression that this is a well established magazine. I have added a few cover lines to the left and right sides of the magazine in order to show the reader what's inside, which will give me a chance to think of some really enticing article ideas which could possibly draw more readers in. I have ensured that i added the essential information in the bottom corner, which will include the price, issue number and the date. Ive added a banner to the top and bottom of the magazine because i decided to do this with my music magazine during AS media, and i thought it was very effective. These will include things like 'INSIDE:" followed by a list of films that the magazine will cover.
